Where It All Started: Kimberly, B.C., 1949
The Johnson family’s automotive story began 75 years ago in Kimberly, a small mining town tucked into the Rocky Mountains of southeastern British Columbia. In 1949, the family opened a service station built on the handshake-deal era of business—where your word was your bond, and a bad job meant losing your neighbor’s trust.
In a town of a few thousand people, reputation was everything. You couldn’t cut corners, couldn’t overcharge, couldn’t hide behind a corporate call center. If something wasn’t right, the customer would see you at the grocery store on Saturday.
That accountability shaped everything the Johnson family built.
Growing Up in the Bays
Greg Johnson didn’t just decide to become a mechanic—he was raised in it. While other kids were playing after school, Greg was in the shop, learning what a seized caliper sounds like, watching his family diagnose problems by ear and by feel, absorbing decades of knowledge that no textbook can teach.
